When does the sun rise in east africa?

Well, I almost beat the jet lag….I slept pretty normal last night, except for the fact that its 4:30am in kenya right now and I’m wide awake. It’s pitch black outside and, other than an occasional dog bark, completely silent. Inside my room, I’m safe under my mosquito net, though are room is super clean and the netting above my bed is probably just a superfluous component added for peace of mind. Wait….a door shut, ahhh, people. I’ve already walked the whol inside of the hotel hoping to find a way to pass the time, but no one is around….even the front desk is closed and quiet. John is still sleeping and in fact I’ve learned talks in his sleep and the best part is that I don’t think it was english. I think he was speaking spanish, though I didn’t recognize any of the words….if I didn’t know better he was practicing his swahli….jambo!

When we arrived last night the guest house was all but closed, so today and hopefully as the sun comes up we’ll be able to see our surroundings and amenties a bit more. I’m told they have a computer with internet here and if so, I hope to post some photos from our trip thus far. Also, this might be something to pray about….the guest house gave us a room last night, but I think today we are simply on the waiting list….not sure what that means but hope to straighten it out this morning. I’ll let you know how it goes….hukana matata.
